Recreating Sidekick and K.O. II
I wanted the site to be the hardware, not a picture of it.
Vagabond deployer of design agents
I've been designing and building for the web for over a decade. These days the part I care about most is the design: how a page feels, how the type sits, and the details nobody notices until they're missing.
I still build everything I design, so I know what's possible before anything gets handed off. Right now I run a small studio called Pure Func, and this site is where I get to play.
Life is short and I want to see how much I can explore and learn before I die! So far I have been to over 40 countries, and for 5 years I lived out of a single suitcase, working remotely from wherever I happened to be. If you are curious about my world travels check out my travel blog.
After studying abroad in Japan in 2004, I realized I had a passion for learning languages. I then went on to major in Japanese, live in Japan for 6 years, and then move to Korea for 6 years and learn Korean. During my time abroad, I had many opportunities to do freelance translation, interpretation, and subtitling work.
I never seemed to have outgrown my days at the playground. I have over 20 years experience in breakdancing, 10 years in calisthenics training, as well as experience in Capoeira, acrobatics, stunt work, pole dancing, boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, tricking, gymnastics, and parkour. I love to test the limits of my body and am curious to see how long I can keep it up.
